Frequently Asked Questions
Where should I go when I arrive?
Welcome to Dingle!
When you arrive on Friday, pop in to us to say hi at our Marquee at the back of Geaneys Car Park. Wristband and goodie bag collection is taking place on Friday evening anytime between 5-6pm.
Where do we meet for the activities?
Our weekend Marquee and base for the weekend is going to be out the back of Geaneys Bar Car Park, which can be accessed via Main Street or the Dingle Town Bypass.
Please familiarise yourself with this location, as bus pick ups, drop-offs and starting points for our hikes will be to and from here all weekend.
Parking may be limited so allow yourself some time to find a spot before pick ups. All activities will take place in our Marquee at the back of Geaneys. If in doubt - head to Geaneys - consider it your base for the weekend!
Where can I park?
Our meeting point will be at Geaney's car park, which is a very small car park and typically reserved for staff (plus our marquee will take up lots of it!), so we do recommend parking elsewhere.
There is a carpark at the Spa Road which is a 2 minute walk to the back of Geaney's. Important note that this parking is paid, if you do not pay you may be ticketed. There is free on-street parking around Main Street. Do carpool when possible.
Do I have to do everything on the schedule?
All events are optional - you can choose to do everything or just some. There is zero pressure on anyone and if you would prefer to sit any of the activities out, please do.
Please note that for Friday, the trail run and hike will be in different locations, so you will need to select one or the other so we can arrange buses.
Our Saturday hike is a long one - however we will be splitting the group up with options of slower paces, with lots of breaks and a nice, easy pace. There is an option to finish at the 8k mark and return to town if you would prefer. Shuttle buses will be provided back to town.
How do I book on the activities?
At this stage you have filled in your ticket with your preference for the Friday and Saturday activities, so if you change your mind, please update that on your tickets so we know numbers for the buses.
Sunday Sauna - note that the sauna sold out much faster than we anticipated, and capacity was limited. We have added 2 additional sessions at 2pm which can be booked here:
If you change your mind on the sauna please reschedule or cancel directly with Sona Sauna on the scheduling platform so someone else can take your spot!
Yoga slots will be booked in a poll on WhatsApp closer to the time.
What are the routes we will be hiking / running?
Friday - If you are doing the hike, we will be heading to Eask Tower (Approx 3k). If you are doing the trail run, we will be heading to the Blasket Island Trail (Approx. 6k).
Saturday - The route starts from the back of Geaneys, heading up the back of Dingle town on foot towards the Conor Pass, before looping around and finishing back in Dingle Town. There are two options for the hike: 1) an 8k (approx.) and 2) a longer 14k (approx.) including a descent into Dingle Town from the Conor Pass. This an unofficial 'route, but we have mapped it out here so you can see.
Sunday - Run will start at Geaney's and loop around Dingle town, approx. 5k.

For Saturday, unfortunately we will not be able to store belongings, as the Marquee will be open and unattended while everyone is on the trails.
On Sunday, members of the team will be present at the Marquee at Geaney's and also at Ventry, so you are welcome to leave belongings there.

About Dingle
How do I get to Dingle?
By Car: Driving to Dingle takes around 4.5 hours from Dublin or 2.5 from Cork and Limerick.
By Train: Irish Rail runs trains to Tralee from Dublin, with a journey time of about 4 hours, followed by a 50-minute Bus Éireann or Local Link bus to Dingle.
By Flight: Kerry Airport (1 hour from Dingle) has flights from Dublin and the UK, with bus services from Tralee via Bus Éireann or Local Link; Shannon and Cork airports are 2.5–3.5 hours away by car.
Car rentals are available at Kerry Airport from providers like Hertz and Europcar, with options in Tralee and Killarney as well. While not essential, we do recommend them and booking in advance is recommended, especially in peak season. Driving gives you the flexibility to explore Dingle in your spare time if you plan to stay on or come down early for Outwest Fest.
Outside of the above, transport options are limited. Dingle Shuttle Bus is a taxi service that can be booked, booking in advance and in a group is recommended.
Where should I stay?
May tends to be a busy time in Dingle, so make sure to book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. There are plenty of options for accommodation in Dingle, with campsites, hostels and larger hotels, depending on what your preferences are!
We recommend checking out Dingle Peninsula’s website for a directory of options. Booking.com also tends to have a large selection of BnB's and hotels.
New Opening!
We've been lucky enough to have gotten early access to a new boutique hotel opening in Dingle town this Spring, called 'The Gable'. They are holding 14 rooms for the 15th and 16th of May for Outwest Fest attendees, and offering a 10% discount too. Please call or email to book, details below:
Email: info@thegabledingle.com
Phone: +353 85 111 6019
Use the code GABLE10 for 10% off the booking.
Where should I eat?
For top-quality coffee, Bean in Dingle is a must-visit - just make sure to get there early before the summer-time queues.
Juice for Thought is the go-to for fresh smoothies and ginger shots.
If you’re after a delicious sandwich to go, Pig & Leaf is a great shout. And for something sweet, Courtney’s Bakery is a classic spot, famous for its incredible doughnuts.
We’re loving the newly opened
Piccolo, make sure to stop by and give them support!
For Brunch, coffee and anything in between, check out the new Hare's Corner on Grey's Lane.
For Dinner - there is so much iconic spots: Benners serve amazing lunches. Ashes is the place to go for an iconic bowl of chowder. FishBox is a must for fresh seafood any time of the day. Geaney’s (where we’re based our of for the weekend) also serve up solid, no-frills pub grub.
Dingle's Best Pubs
For a small town, Dingle has an incredible amount to offer! It's hard to pick, but our favourites in Dingle have to be Dick Mack’s - a legendary pub known for its craft beers, whiskeys, and a fantastic courtyard perfect for summer evenings. We also love Kennedy’s - a smaller, more intimate setting with a great selection of cocktails and candlit vibes. Those are just some of our favourites, you really can't go wrong with any of the pubs in Dingle!

What is Outwest Fest?
Outwest Fest is a weekend all about getting outdoors and spending time with great people in a great place.
Expect guided hikes, trail runs, movement and recovery sessions, plus food, music and talks in the evenings. It’s relaxed, welcoming and built around doing things together.
Based on the Dingle Peninsula, Outwest Fest is now in its third year. We're so lucky to have some incredible trails around us - and in past years we've spent weekends on the hills around Dingle, hiking Mount Brandon, Easc Tower, Cnoc a Cairn, and the Blasket Island Trail, to name a few!
Watch our 2024 and 2025 Highlight Reel to bring back all of the memories and see what's in store.
