How our Aistear Hoodie got its Irish name.
With Seachtain Na Gaeilge kicking off this week, we thought it would be a good idea to explain our grá (meaning “love”) for the Irish language a bit more. Naturally, it’s tied to the fact that we are established in the heart of the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) in Dingle. But it's also closely linked to our products. When designing our clothing we always like to give a little nod to our culture and heritage – and what better way to do it than with our Irish language names.
To date we’ve launched the “Farraige” (meaning “sea”) fleece, our Corca Dhuibhne Sweaters (named after our location on the Dingle Peninsula) and of course, our recently launched “Saolré” (meaning “lifelong”) Softshell Jackets.
